Tonight's Show is broadcast live from the smaller of the two venues in the new WXPN Building, World Café Live (Upstairs) with our special guest Tom Rush.
This is the first time Gene's show has played to a live audience in a supper club atmosphere. The World Café Live (Upstairs) is a 150 seat café with full bar, restaurant and a staff of waitpersons.
The Folk Show broadcast, positions Gene at a table onstage next to the performance area. Albums, promos and recorded spots are run from the studio downstairs.WXPN engineers work with venue sound people and Gene's Folk Show interns.
WXPN staffers are on hand to control admissions as this is a Free Concert. Reservations were made online when the concert was announced a few weeks ago.
The concert sold out within a few days.
The house was packed.
Tom Rush was at his best---funny, tuneful and genuine.
